Broken foot and Munster students

If you would have told me that in the midst of all this COVID-19 crisis and school closure that I would be dealing with a broken foot I would have said, "No way!"

Unfortunately I missed a step headed to our back porch, rolled my left ankle and "pop!" Yes.. Ouch! The last place I wanted to be at was an urgent care, but I had no choice. After several x-rays, I was told I broke the 5th metatarsal in my left foot and required surgery to get a pin placed. My heart sank the moment I heard that pop because I was in the midst of enjoying daily long walks with all 4 of our Munsters. I was working hard having them gain my trust in our walks. I wasn't sure how I was going to handle it but if anything good came out of it, it's that I was able to spend time with them and getting to know the Munsters is a different way.

I was also in the middle of going into distance learning with my school due to COVID. It was quite an adventure to say the least. I pretended that I was the teacher and the Munsters were my students! We even had snack, nap, and play time! Of course I was busy with my own students by creating videos and lesson for them including lots of Zoom sessions! My students enjoyed unexpected barks and visits from the 4 little Munsters during Zoom meetings. Yetta especially made her presence known but barking or making her Chewbacca noises. It was a way for them to meet the Munsters even though they never got to due to COVID. While it certainly wasn't the summer I was anticipating, I was grateful for the rest and healing time as well as time well spent with my 4 Small Munsterlanders! I look forward to many more summers with them in the future!
