A little history worth noting. Cedar earned first place in the SMCA 2016 Annual Bird Derby, Puppy Division. This event was run under hot and windy conditions and Cedar was the only dog in all three divisions all day, Hunter, Junior Hunter and Puppy to point four birds, bringing all four to hand in less than 20 minutes. The Breed Council President, at the time, Tom McDonald, gunned for the event and highly encouraged us to pursue breeding Cedar based on his performance, particularly due to his scenting ability. What's amazing is that we consistently hear he has passed this and more on to all his progeny. That's really where it all began for Cedars Point.
Advanced Hunting Aptitude Test
This was Cedar's first test with the VHDF and it was Jeff's second test as a handler. Conditions were challenging starting out as dead still in the morning, finishing with winds of a steady 20+ MPH in the afternoon. Temperatures were in the upper 80's by noon and in the 90's in the afternoon. It was a day to BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DOG!
